Bhavin Pitamber

Bhavin Pitamber graduated in 2000 from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, with awards in General Medicine, General Surgery and Operative Dentistry. His interests in surgical dentistry and periodontology, the cornerstones of implant dentistry, led him to a formal four-year postgraduate Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical Periodontology.

Further training has been undertaken across the USA, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Spain, Hungary, Italy, Portugal and Belgium, and a significant proportion of his annual postgraduate education is still undertaken internationally.

His clinical expertise includes the diagnosis and treatment of periodontal and peri-implant disease, with special interests in periodontal and peri-implant surgery, the treatment of gum recession, and regenerative periodontal treatments. Growth factors and advanced biomaterials are routinely used to optimise outcomes, and advanced bone and sinus augmentation is a significant part of his daily practice. Bhavin’s philosophy is to always have the patient’s best long-term interests at heart, to work closely with colleagues and to never stop learning. He is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the European Federation of Periodontology and the British Society of Periodontology and Implant Dentistry.
